15. Henry Stephens b. 1497 m: Alexandra Lugg b. 1501; sons: 1st Edward b. 1523 Lord of Eastington; 2nd Walter b. 1525 -nothing else is known; 3rd John Stephens b. 1525; 4th Richard b. 1527.

• 1st -16. Edward b. 1523 Lord of Eastington; m: Joan Fowler; sons: 1st Richard b. 1554; 2nd James b. 1556; 3rd Thomas b. 1558; Anthony b. 1560.

1st Richard b. 1554 m: Margarett St Leo; sons: 1st Edward b. 1587 d. 1590 (age 3); 2nd Nathaniel b. 1589;

• 2nd Nathaniel b. 1589 m: Catherine Beale. He inherited the family estates when he was 10 yrs old; they were farmed by Daniel and Henry Fowler until he “came of age” in 1611. Note (Jody Gray): I have no information for their other children so I am only listing -Son, 2nd Richard b. 1620 m: Ann Cholmley; their son, Nathaniel Stephens b. 1655, inherited the estate when his father died in 1660, m: Elizabeth Pemberton; sons: 1st Robert (Rev) b. 1704; 2nd Richard b. 1705; 3rd Henry b. 1710; 4th Nathaniel b. 1711. [listing in order of inheritance] 2nd son, Richard, inherited the estate when his mother died in 1742. 4th son, Nathaniel inherited the estate when his brother died in 1771. 1st son, Rev Robert, inherited the estate when his brother died in 1776. 3rd son, Henry, inherited the estate when his brother died in 1777; married Anne; she held the estate until her death in 1801; when it passed to Henry’s cousin, Henry Willis, who took the name and arms of ‘Stephens’…

2nd James Isaac b. 1556 m: Catherine Browning. In 1588 he was working as clothier at Churchend Mill at Eastington; later he purchased the mill; his son, Edward b. 1576, succeeded him when he died in 1590; his son, Nathaniel b. 1596 succeeded him when he died in 1653.

• 1st- 19. John b. 1603 m: Mary Moulson; John immigrant to Guilford, CT in 1639.

• 2nd John b. 1585 m1: Elizabeth Ram -no children. m2: Grace; daughter, Grace b. 1625. m3: Ann Moulson; sons: 1st Thomas b. 1639 of Lypiatt; 2nd Edward -no other information; 3rd John -no other information. 1st Thomas b. 1639 m: Anne Child; sons: 1st Thomas b. 1672 of Lypiatt; 2nd Nathaniel -no other information; 3rd Edward -no other information. 1st Thomas b. 1672 m: Ann Neale; sons: 1st John d. 1778 of Lypiatt m: Elizabeth Phill -no known children -he left Lypiatt Estate to Thomas Baghott -refer to Sources at the end of this Blog Post for "Succession of the Lypiatt Estate".
