Alexander Gray

Andrew Gray

John and Bathia Gray Family Portrait, after 1850 Michigan Census (Jane's age is 0 in that Census). If this portrait was taken in 1851: John Sr 37, Bathia 40; William 17,  Grace 15, John Jr 13, Alexander 11, Andrew 9, George 6, Bathia Jr 4, Jane 1.
(Left to Right) Back: Alexander, William, John Jr.
Center: Grace, John Sr, George, Bathia, Andrew
Front: Bathia Jr, Jane
Note: although Alexander would appear to be older than John Jr because he is taller; I recognize John Jr, he is shorter and stockier than his younger brother. There are tall and lanky Gray men and then there are the shorter Gray men, e.g. when you look at the wedding photo of George A and Clare Maud and compare the two brothers, George A (who is a little shorter than as his bride) and Robert C you can see what I'm talking about. John Jr has the broadest shoulders and thickest neck, that I've noticed, of the Gray men. I also notice specific individual natural parts in their hair lines.
